Its My Life! So What do I do with it?

A fun filled workshop to help students improve self-esteem and stress reduction skills in order to prepare for school or future careers. Participants learn evidence based strategies to formulate goals and improve focus through imagination, test taking skills and memory enhancement. Mindfulness training and introduction to meditation is incorporated in the curriculum. Humor is especially explored as a vehicle for a way to bring about an optimal learning environment, and participants are introduced to the use of language, paradox and surprise as vehicles for “brain training”. This program is geared especially for high school and college students as well as for individuals in ¬†transition needing to go back to school. Students are encouraged to learn about the advances in neuroscience which demonstrate that humor and laughter are beneficial to long term well-being and success, and principles of leadership and entrepreneurship which encourage networking and collaboration.
